ASTM A333 grade 8 seamless pipes for low temperature services
ASTM A 333 Gr 8 lOW Temperature Carbon Steel Pipes & Tubes, Exporters, Manufacturers, Stockists & Traders in Mumbai
ASTM A333 (ASME S/A-333) Pipe grades permit low temperature service. This specification covers nominal (average) walled pipe almost exclusively in seamless. Several grades of ferritic steel are included. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thicknesses have an adverse effect on low-temperature impact properties. A333 pipe is furnished to nine different grades designated by numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 11.
ASTM A333 Grade 6 is the part of standard covers wall seamless and welded carbon and alloy steel pipe intended for use at low temperatures. ASTM A333 Grade 6 alloy pipe shall be made by the seamless or welding process with the addition of no filler metal in the welding operation.
ASTM A333 Grade 8 covers all seamless and welded carbon and alloy steel pipe intended for use at low temperatures. The pipe shall be made by the seamless or welding process with the addition of no filler metal in the welding operation. All seamless and welded pipes shall be treated to control their micro structure. Tensile tests, impact tests, hydro static tests, and nondestructive electric tests shall be made in accordance to specified requirements.

Scope
This specification covers nominal (average) wall seamless and welded carbon and alloy steel pipe intended for use at low temperatures and in other applications requiring notch toughness. Several grades of ferritic steel are included as listed. Some product sizes may not be available under this specification because heavier wall thickness have an adverse effect on impact properties.
The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values stated in each system may not be excat equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.

Mechanical Testing
Transverse or Longitudinal Tension Test and Flattening Test, Hardness Test, or Bend Test For material heat treated in a batch-type furnace, tests shall be made on 5% of the pipe from each treated lot. For small lots, at least one pipe shall be tested. For material heat treated by the continuous process, tests shall be made on a sufficient number of pipe to constitute 5% of the lot, but in no case less than 2 pipe. Hydrostatic Test Impact Test One notched bar impact test, consisting of breaking three specimens shall be made from each heat represtented in a heat-treatment load on specimens taken from the finished pipe.
